Megan Stranski, Psy.D.
Clinical Health Psychologist, Extension 313
Megan Stranski is a licensed Clinical Health Psychologist and graduate from Midwestern University. She works with individuals diagnosed with chronic illnesses and pain to help them adjust to their new normal while also integrating meaning and passion in their daily lives. Of note, she has specialized training in working with oncology, women’s health, digestive health, and end-of-life clients, as well as working with caregivers. She believes that it is essential to actively listen with clients about their experience, values, and needs prior to creating a treatment plan. Additionally, she is passionate about providing clients with psychoeducation surrounding potential interventions options, understanding the impact of how chronic illnesses/pain has interrupt their lives, and exploring how to gain back some control during this very difficult and vulnerable time. She is an advocate for helping clients better understanding their mind-body connection in a holistic way by utilizing scientifically supported interventions to help manage stress, self-confidence, and a value-driven life.
Of note, she typically works from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy perspective while integrating interventions from other theories to tailor treatment on an individual basis. Her perspective in therapy is that the client is an expert on themselves while she provides psychological education and a compassionate and empathetic therapeutic approach. She is also trained in biofeedback to help clients identify when stress hormones (cortisol) and re-energizing hormones (DHEA) are present and methods to help manage stress based on when cortisol is present. She further will be providing neuropsychological evaluations for diagnostic clarifications (ADHD, depression, anxiety, etc.) and surgical readiness for spinal cord stimulators (SCS, DRG) and transplant evaluations (heart, lung, kidney, liver, stem-cell). Insurance Megan Stranski is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield BlueChoice, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Optum/United Healthcare, Medicare, and Tricare East.
