Dr. Justin Chu is a Postdoctoral Clinical Psychologist who provides individual therapyservices to adolescents and adults, and also conducts comprehensive psychologicalevaluations across the lifespan. He received his degree in Clinical Psychology at AdlerUniversity in Chicago. Dr. Chu has trained in a variety of settings including a privatepractice, community mental health clinic, and a psychiatric hospital. He has worked witha diverse range of individuals in terms of age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation,socio-economic status, and religion.
Dr. Chu primarily approaches therapy through the lenses of Cognitive BehavioralTherapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Client-CenteredTherapy. His approach to healing integrates genuineness, authenticity, openness,empathy, validation, and unconditional acceptance. He emphasizes a collaborativeapproach in therapy to help clients identify their own unique goals and values, personalstrengths, and abilities to implement the change they want. Dr. Chu also works withclients to challenge counterproductive behavioral patterns, address negative thoughts,and foster acceptance of unavoidable life factors, all of which can contribute to feeling“stuck” and away from the present moment.
