Dr. Claudia Ramirez received her masters and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology fromCarlos Albizu University, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She completed her APA doctoral internshipat Pennsylvania Counseling Services, an agency focused on providing outpatient communitymental health and drug and alcohol counseling services to individuals from diversesocioeconomic status, sexual orientation, religious and cultural background, and differentcountries. She provides services both in English and in Spanish.
As a Post-Doctoral Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Ramirez prioritizes approaching therapeuticprocesses from a compassionate, radically accepting, and genuine attitude, understanding theimportance of fostering a safe space for healing, change and growth to develop. She believes inthe importance of partnership and collaboration as she accompanies her clients navigating thejourney of their lives, with warmth and cultural sensitivity. Dr. Ramirez integrates evidence-based modalities such as CBT, Mindfulness based interventions such as ACT and DBT, andMotivational Interviewing.
She has provided services to adults, children, and adolescents in diverse scenarios, such asoutpatient community mental health clinics, schools, and universities, at the individual, family,couples’, and group modalities. Dr. Ramirez has assisted clients with presenting concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, major life transitions, chronic pain, andsubstance use. She is also trained to administer full batteries and make integrated reports ofcognitive and personality assessments.
