Dr. Claudia Ramirez received her masters and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She completed her APA doctoral internship at Pennsylvania Counseling Services, an agency focused on providing outpatient community mental health and drug and alcohol counseling services to individuals from diverse socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, religious and cultural background, and differentcountries. She provides services both in English and in Spanish.
As a Post-Doctoral Therapist, Dr. Ramirez prioritizes approaching therapeutic processes from a compassionate, radically accepting, and genuine attitude, understanding the importance of fostering a safe space for healing, change and growth to develop. She believes in the importance of partnership and collaboration as she accompanies her clients navigating the journey of their lives, with warmth and cultural sensitivity. Dr. Ramirez integrates evidence-based modalities such as CBT, Mindfulness based interventions such as ACT and DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
She has provided services to adults, children, and adolescents in diverse scenarios, such as outpatient community mental health clinics, schools, and universities, at the individual, family, couples’, and group modalities. Dr. Ramirez has assisted clients with presenting concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, major life transitions, and substance use. She is also trained to administer full batteries and make integrated reports of cognitive and personality assessments.
